100 years and counting

June 13, 2009- St. Anthony Catholic Church celebrated their 100th anniversary over the weekend with a grand centennial celebration. The highlight for Pecos was the parade. Oma and Opa loaned us their 1923 T-bucket and a mini version for Pecos to ride in. Of course, everyone expected Pecos' parade entry to be a horse or a tractor. So if him in a race car wasn't funny enough, his driver (Casey) crammed into the car with him made it hilarious. I think they were by far the most photographed entry in the parade. And we won a third place ribbon for our entry....considering we don't have ties to any of the founding families of the church we were pretty proud of ourselves. Pecos spent his time on the parade route alternating between waving, throwing candy and checking to make sure his ribbon was still tied onto the car. Casey spent the entire parade route trying to lay a scratch. Now we begin work on his parade entry for the Fredericksburg Fourth of July children's parade....stay tuned!
