What J-you-ne been up to lately?

June 2009- If swimming lessons, church parades and birthday parties weren't enough, we've had plenty other activities to keep us busy during the long, HOT days this June. Let's start with the animals....I was gathering things inside to load in the car the other day while Pecos had already made his way to the porch to "wait" for me. He stuck his head in the door to tell me that he needed help getting his rope off the cat. This is what I found. Not to worry, this cat gets a daily dose of love from Pecos and comes back for more.In mid-June Miss Chickie hatched two baby chicks. She'd been sitting on a nest of about 10 eggs for a few weeks and we were so excited that she ended up with a couple chicks to add to the growing flock. And here's a recent pic of the proud papa, Denis the Wonder Rooster (refresh your memory here- http://theworrellfamily.blogspot.com/2009/02/free-range-rooster-ranch.html).
Pecos has been spending some time lately with his best cowboy buddy, Jace. These two just can't get enough of playing Cowboys & Indians and riding their stick horses. Pecos has grown so fond of Jace's sitck horse, Ginger, that he sometimes can't even leave her outside when they take a break to watch a little John Wayne.
Mimi and Paw Paw visited us over Father's Day weekend. They even hauled live crawfish and gulf crabs for us to boil and enjoy. They were some of the best we've had in a long time, especially since they were here and we didn't have to drive 9 hours to enjoy them!
And our most recent adventure was visiting Sea World in the 100+ degree heat. There are enough places to splash and keep cool so it was not too bad. We'll be making a few more trips before the season is over. The battery on the camera went out so not too many pics of it but we'll get more on our next trip.
