strawberry fields forever

April 2, 2009- We went strawberry picking on the windiest day of the year. Wind gusts of at least 30 mph. But it was the only day of the week we could make it. And since most days the orchard closes early because there are so many pickers we thought we'd better go in case we didn't get another chance or run the risk of the orchard closing for the year because the berry plants quit producing. The berries were much smaller this year than last and Pecos was not quite as enthusiastic due to the wind but we still had a great time and left with a boxful of berries.

This looks like a good one.

Tastes as good as it looks!

After a short stint of picking, Pecos became the spotter. "Get that one, Oma!", "Follow me, Mama.", "Put it in my box!"

And once his box was full he was ready to leave.

So heavy!

Strawberry pie, anyone?
