August 2012- Pecos is really into Angry Birds, but I guess most kids aged 6-10 are {and some adults!}. He kind of went back and forth on several birthday party ideas but finally settled on this one. Thank goodness he did because I'd started collecting ideas for it several months earlier.
I really was hoping he'd want to have it at our house because I had soooooooo many great decorating and party game ideas. {I tend to go overboard with birthday parties in case you haven't noticed}. But he wanted to play laser tag at the arcade in Kerrville. It really is better than having a party outside in August in Texas; unless of course the party is at a place whose air conditioner goes out the day of your party.
And he really wanted to do his birthday party at the time of his birthday even though it was the week before school started. Which is probably best because it may have been a month before we would have been able to have it.

Goody bags!
The loot that went into the goody bags!
This is Pecos' sweet friend from kindergarten. She sat at this game machine that was so simple- push a button, a ball drops and lands in a hole with a number on it. The number is how many tickets you win. She was a master and won at least a thousand tickets on it. She would get so excited and just kept feeding the game tokens and it would spit out tickets in return. It was like watching an old lady at a slot machine in Vegas! She's gonna win some slot tournaments one day I'm sure!
Once school started he was able to celebrate with all of his classmates.
Birthday loot from his teacher.
His birthday "cake" at school.
He wanted to bring popsicles to school instead of cupcakes- what a great idea for August!

Pecos wanted a bigger bike for his birthday.
He was due for one. This is the one he got when he turned 3. It was time for something bigger.
